Aernnova is a leading aerostructures company specialized in the design, manufacturing, maintenance and services of aerostructures and components such as empennages, wings and fuselage sections. With revenues of more than 740 million euros and 5,200 employees, we are the first Tier 1 in Spain. Our capabilities enable us to assume full responsibility for the programs over the Product Life Cycle: From conceptual and detail design, testing & certification to serial production and in-service support. Aernnova combines the integral management of major aerostructures with specialized business units for Engineering, Composites, Metallic Components, and Services. Headquartered in Spain, Aernnova has expanded its activities and capabilities globally to cover its customers. We have engineering facilities or projects under development in Spain, Mexico, Brazil, the USA, the UK, Portugal, and Romania. Aernnova designs, manufactures, and supports aerostructures for more than 30 programs for the leading OEMs. Aernnova is a key partner in all the most relevant aeronautic R&D projects (Clean Sky, Clean Sky2 & Clean Aviation) and is an active member in different aeronautical associations and clusters at national and European levels. AERNNOVA has been working on CleanSky and CleanAviation projects where one of the research areas is devoted to Hybrid Laminar Flow Control (HLFC) in wings and tails. One of the key technologies of this development is laser micro-perforation of large wing skin panels to enable boundary layer suction during cruise flight, delaying turbulent effects over the exposed surfaces and reducing overall aircraft drag. Aerodynamic experiments in wind tunnels and computational analysis demonstrate that the manufacturing precision of the porous skin in all its key parameters is of paramount importance for the flow behavior at the designed suction rate. Three main CleanSky videos summarizing the project progress are: LaserWay
